Any info on this local ad in paper for 'VCD' version box set. Is this official version as I was not aware it had been released
There is an officially licensed VCD edition of the trilogy available in Malaysia. Several online retailers sell this set, and it costs about £25 including shipping. Nice set overall, but we'd all rather have it on DVD of course.

Many thanks
The ad I saw had it for sale at £40! Glad I did not rush to the phone. Could you tell me which retailers hold the title or where I might get a copy more sensibly priced?
You could try here Star Wars Trilogy VCD's (http://www.getvcds.com/vcd/star_wars_trilogy.shtml)
$26.99 (+ $13.99 shipping) = $40.98 or about £29
Couldn't get to the site I used for some reason. Maybe they're having server problems.
Might be worth noting it's Pan & Scan and not widescreen. I was going to buy them until i found that out. :(

I have since found them on a couple of sites (thanx for the link) and whilst the quality maybe slightly better and more durable than VHS there do appear to be some drawbacks with the format what with it being on 2 discs and some reports of colour 'blurring'. Think I'll stick with VHS until Mr Lucas does the job properly.
I had never heard of VCD's so thanks to this forum I am now wiser and up about £40 because I would probably have brought them. Ebay.co.uk is awash with them and are selling for between £35 - £40 a set or follow the link in this thread for under £30 including shipping.
Appreciate the time
