I had a call last night from a Satellite company offering a warranty on all things Sky, i.e. cables, boxes, dish etc I was a little thrown by the call as I didn't expect any calls and plus the boxes are way out of warranty despite the guy saying they were just coming out of a manufacturing warranty! Anyway wasn't at all impressed, basically a cold call and a very pushy salesman etc

Has anyone else had calls like this, taken them up on the £5 a month cover etc I told him I didn't have time to talk and wasn't interested and then he came back with the classic "so you want to pay more when your box breaks down do you?" !!! At that point I told him politely that I wasn't interested and put the phone down !!! Are these reputable companies, are they owned by Sky? I just wondered how they got my details !!!

They are nothing to do with Sky , i think Sky or the installers sell people details as i keep getting calls and letters.

If you are out of warranty Sky will do a free service call anyway if you say you will cancel :)

my thoughts exactly ! They make too much out of me to just let my account go! Disappointed they've sold my details but I don't think that guy will be calling me again !

Yep. Just did this with me. Quite happy but had to be a total arse hole to the poor girl on the other end.

I had a call like this a month or so ago, which was odd because I only had Sky installed 2 months before that, so was still well within the warranty.
