I've seen the new R2 Life of Brian recommended in 2 different papers over the Christmas perios because it's a great film and finally avaialble on DVD.

Isn't this the bare bones Pan & Scan release? If so what idiots do these papers actullay employ to recommend stuff. Grrr it makes me mad.

It's even more of a rip off when you consider that an all singing and dancing special edition is due later this year.

The Region 1 is crammed with extras - The quality of the region 2 is complete pants - up there with Highlander!
I brought my region 2 copy back - it's that bad!

Get the Criterion and don't bother with anything else until the SE comes out.

Obviously some people are listening to the recommendations as Play has it listed as their no.7 R2 best seller.

Well i have the Danish release which is 1.85:1 Anamorphic with DD2.0 sound which cost about £7 and delivery was fast. 3 days

The US region 0 Criterion Edition is the best version of the movie available, simple as that.

The commentary tracks are funny, the deleted scenes interesting and the hour 'be hind the scenes' doc facinating and amusing.

Get it now and dont bother with other sub standard rubbish that you can get in the UK

If it's anything like the recent Monty Python And The Holy Grail Special Edition, yes !!!

The care and attention that the boys have put into that, makes Life Of Brian SE one of the must-haves of 2002.
