View Full Version : Faulty DS cartridge-Age of empires
Hi All
Just been to US and bought a second hand DS game(AoE).
On the way back on the plane, the DS ran out of battery power.
Now, when I try to boot up, the game won't start(but it is recognized at the boot-up screen). Can the cartridge be short circuited by a loss of power and is there anyway to get this working again? Tried a web search but couldn't find anything on this.

never heard of that before. It shouldn't affect it. Are you sure the cart is genuine and not a pirate?

I don't think there are counterfeit DS cartridges, are there? Ebay would be flooded if there were!

Yes, there are actually but I don't think they're that widespread yet. I posted a thread (http://thedvdforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=430840) about it a few months ago.
read about buggy problems with the game... look on google..
don't use save & quit..
if you DS name is less than 4 character then this causes the game problems..
Its caused some game carts to go wrong and not boot up again..
HI
I don't think it is a fake. It was working ok until the power failed mid game(which is why I'm wondering whether anyone else has experienced this).
I haven't used save and quit and my DS name is longer than 4 characters.
Thanks for the advice. Looks like I might be dipping into my pockets to rebuy the Uk version :(
