Hi
I have a US Vinatage Reissue '62 Strat. It was perfect for what i wanted when I bought it but I now how a couple of other guitars which do the "early rock n roll" clean sound really well so have decided to change from the Fender 57/62 pickups to Fender Hot Noiseless
Well, the pickups have arrived and, having ripped out my old pups, it turns out that the cavity is too shallow for these new pups.
Now, I either scrub the whole idea or get the cavity routed yeah? I am keen to use these pups as they soud great on the Clapton strat so am veering towards getting the cavity routed.
Anyone know anything about getting this routed - in particular with respect of the vintage US guitars - how much play do I have? I don't want the bloke to put a bloody great hole through to the trem springs.
