I know you can get portable players that will slow down cd's to up to 50% of the normal playing speed without cganhing pitch, guitar trainers, but does anyone know of a PC program that will do it? Ideally just a player (so you can select the mp3, etc) and not one where you have to edit it like Soundforge, etc.

Thanks.

I think there is a winamp plugin that does this, can't remember its name at the moment though.

Cheers Boogerman! Found this one for Winamp 2! Looks good! I'll give it a proper try at the weekend ;)

This will certainly come in useful! Is there another plug in that would allow you to mute the vocals? On my dads sound system you can do this..i think its a Karioke feature.

Pacemaker (http://www.surina.net/pacemaker) does both.

You need to make sure you find something that keeps the pitch though. I found the audio audition works quite well (used to be cool edit pro). I have a Boss multi effects pedal that will let you do this as well, but it lowers the pitch by half a semi tone or more depending on the speed you slow it to, but basically is useless.

I use riffster - it was a couple of quit, paid by paypal I think. It does the job ok, doesn't alter pitch
