I have owned the Logix for about 15 months now, does anyone else out there actually own one? It often seems as if I own the only one in the country!
Mine has been fine, it's played evey Region1 disk I own (which is most of my DVDs) and recorded them onto tape for my daughters bedroom VCR well enough.
The only suspect thing with it is the sound, it's far superior to the JVC nicam VCR we own but I cant help feeling it could be more impressive. The TV is a JVC 3D phonic 28" widescreen with built in Dolby Surround sound, quite often we have to have the TV turned to almost full blast to get decent volume from a disk.
Would I get better peformance from one of the newer budget players (such as the Dansai) or is it worth sticking with the Logix fo a while longer?

The sound from any DVD player is lower volume than TV or video.

This is to allow for a greater dinamic range. In other words the explosions etc can seem louder cos general voices and music is at a lower volume.
So if you change your player don't expect the sound volume to be any higher.
