View Full Version : New golf club broke on first swing, what should i do?
I bought a new set of hippo evo 4 golf clubs, tested them at the driving range this morning and the 4 wood broke on the graphite shaft, under the grip.
What can i do now? can i return it/send back? Its only 2 days old.
Are you thinking this particular clubhad a flawed shaft or have you been heavy handed with the club?
If its the latter then I'd think about going back to where you bought them have assessing whether the shaft you have chosen is suitable for you, there are different flexes available and if you've gone for soft and your a heavy gripper with a wild swing it could just be too soft for you. Maybe a hard graphite or a very flexible steel would be better....if so ask them if they will change the set.
If you think its a flawed club make enquiries with the shop or hippo direct and i'm sure they will replace it if was damaged.
It'll likely be a good will gesture, if they've managed to sway you into purchasing their clubs they'll want to keep you (unless you murder anymore of there works of art...hehe!)
i bought the set from a online golf shop, have emailed them but they havent answered as of yet :(
I think most golf clubs have a lifetime warranty on them so you should be ok. I've known golf clubs to break, but not normally on the first swing.
