Recommend me a Video camera

I have a budget of £300ish and am looking for a Video Camera.
What do people recommend, and am I going to get a decent DVD camera for that :shrug:

ok - I'll give it a quick answer. For now, i'd suggest you go for mini-DV using tape rather than DVD or hard disc, and £300 will get you a ok one, but sacrificing some features eg true widescreen, DV in etc. The problem with direct to disc camcorders is editing the footage(?) on the PC and some quality issues due to compression. Do a search for camcorder in this sub-forum - quite a few posts with similar questions/answers.
