View Full Version : [DVD] No more new release lists at amazon uk
New & Future Releases (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/redirect-home?tag=thedvdforums-21&site=dvd)
Amazon appear to have redisigned the new and future releases pages and have removed the ability to sort by upcoming week. I used to use this regularly to see what was out over the next couple of weeks but will now be using another retailer.
ChoicesUK.com (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=18513&a=60823&g=228655) have a good future releases guide
Thanks, I'll have a look. Seems mad on Amazons part though!
that is quite irritating - I used to use that to add to my rental list
Play's listings are ok

The pages are still there. This happened the last time they tried updating to the A9 search. Screwed everything up for me but I thought it was down to me using a Mac. I complained to Amazon and even though they said it was not a problem at their end they took down the A9 update a couple of weeks later. Before that (and again now when going via their links) one of the things I could not access was the week by week new and future releases. Luckily when they went back to their old search I bookmarked some links and they still work. Can’t post them unfortunately as they seem tied into my account and don’t work on other accounts ie they’re not generic search links.
Now they have again updated to the useless A9 search (despite it still being riddled with bugs like this and stupid omissions like not being able to re-order search results by release date) many other useful features are also gone from the previous software.
Please phone Amazon and register your complaint. Not so easy to disregard if they have a number of people reporting this/these problems.

Yeah - they've removed the option to sort your results in the book section by release date, which is really annoying. I emailed to complain, received the usual nonsense reply, but A9 vanished from the book section for a few days shortly after. I figured it was due to many complaints, but its back now...

excuse my ignorance, but what is an 'A9'?

I like Play.com (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://playcom.at/thedvdforums) future release DVD schedules, they get updated all the time, and everything is clearly listed with release dates and everything you need to know really. Also all the releases are seperated into links for seperate dates, so no need to search through 100's of pages to see the release dates of DVD's you want to see.
It also gives release dates for DVD's about 10 months in advance too.

A9 is Amazon's own search engine, which drives the US site, and now the UK site, and isn't as good as what it has replaced...
