No 'Royal Tenenbaums' ? Andersons best yet going by some reviews.
Joe Yes I'm sure that was there too but only included the ones I've typed into excel (yes, really sad I know) so far. Otherwise, with so many films, I just lose track of what I want to see or get on DVD.
From the list my number 1 film not to miss would be:
LOTR: The Two Towers
Same it's not out until next Christmas, I'm sure I can make do with a few of the other films until then.

When you say Monsters Ball, do you mean Monsters Inc? Definitely one to watch out for next/this year. If Pixar can make Billy Crystal funny, they can do anything.
IIFC Monster's Ball is a new film with Billy Bob Thornton and Halle Berry who finds the time to get her baps our again.
She must like it i guess.:D

BUT Doesn't Monster's Ball also feature Poof Diddy (or whatever he's calling himself this week?

Blolox to them. Watch Monsters inc instead. Sean Diddy P Diddy P Coombs is quite possibly the worst hip hop artiste in the history of popular music.

Nope. Full title is K19: The Widowmaker and stars Harrison Ford.

That's the one :)
It also stars Heath Ledger. Not convinced about this one actually making my top 50 but trying to list 50 must-see films is a pretty tall order anyway - imho.

If Sum of all Fears is the Tom Clancy one I thought this had been dropped

I believe it is, with Ben Affleck in the lead role. In fairness, Empire do state that the rumours suggest it might be delayed several years due to its terrorist plot.

Ahhh, the traditional Empire advertorial on behalf of the studios that take double page spreads in those very pages. Is there seriously, anyone that reads Empire for objective intelligent writing about film or is it just bought for the pictures? At least the old cinema giveaway, Flicks was free. I don’t now how Emap have the nerve to charge for this monthly puff-piece.

I stopped reading Empire some years ago and now flick through the magazine in Smiths. Their cinema reviews have gone downhill badly and as for their feature pieces, don't get me started. I still read, for all its faults, Sight and sound. It might be a tad pretentious but, for me, I delivers what I want in a film journal (plus you sometimes get a freebie script book).

There is already a sequel to K9 called K-911 starring James Belushi & Christine Tucci which Sky have been showing recently (it's not very good).

They are talking about it being released in October now.
October? Wouldn't argue with that especially if the DVD does get a September release.
I just hope they do justice to Spiderman, even though I was but a critter when they released the original Spiderman movie, I could have wept at just how bad it was.
I'm very curious to see if Ali is any good - a difficult guy for the 'fresh Prince' to portray. Cert for an oscar if he nails it.
Hope Scorcese is back on form with Gangs of New York - not often I look forward to a period piece.
Some big bang blockbusters coming up then - MIB2, Bond 20, Star Trek:Nemesis (please let this be a good un), Harry Potter, The Two Towers, Spidey AND a Attack of the Clones. Anyone want to take bets on which of these blockbusters actually lives up to the inevtiable hype?

GregB I've only reproduced the list. There are many in there that I do think are not worth the time of day. Still, as I said, trying to draw up a list of 50 films is really quite tough. And it's guaranteed that no one will agree with all of the titles listed.

Well Scooby Doo the movie is certainly one to watch out for.
If that film was showing as an inflight movie, i'd walk out the door.
I'm personally looking forward to...
The Panic Room - Finchers Fight Club Follow Up
Death To Smoochy - Looks quite amusing
Men In Black 2 - I liked the first one
Austin Powers In Goldmember - looks amusing- Kevin Spaceys doing a cameo!
Red Dragon - Anthony Hopkins, Edward Norton, Ralph Fiennes, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Harvey Keitel.:D
Blade 2 - Brainless fun
Insomnia - Al Pacino
The Royal Tenenbaums - Obvious
XXX - Vin Diesel is the man!
Windtalkers - John Woo does War!
Once Upon A Time In Mexico- Its the sequel to Desparado!
The 2 Towers Obvious as well
I am not looking forward to...
Scooby Doo -it'll suck
Ali G In Da House - Ali G is not that funny as that awards show showed

I wasn't haveing a go at you. The list is appreciated but this particular remake is perhaps the worst idea for a remake Hollywood have had in a long time
