thanks for reading, just got it from richersounds today, it is multiregion via a hack, so got it open put in the hack(to bypass) and i am away! or not:mad:

When i try to either
1) chapter select
2) Use GOTO button, ie when watching the dvd type in a scene number

it just freezes the drive make strange noises, and thats it!
So i have to press stop and restart the dvd, but the it wont load, again strange noises, so i have to take out the discs close the drive, open the drive then put the disc in a it might work.
Or sometimes i cant enter the extras, same problem!
What the hell is going on i know it is a cheap player £120, but this should not happen.

has this happened to anybody else?

Have i got a DUD machine or is the make just crap?

 I think i will have to take it back, if so should i get another one of the same make? LG DVD4210 (Multi-region) OR Cyberhome ADM512 as they are all the same price:eek:
any info would be great

It sounds like the drive unit is struggling to read the DVD.
If it was just one film i would suggest giving the disc a wipe.
I suppose you have tried more than one film - so it sounds like a dodgy player.

If you take it back then which player to choose depends on what you are likely to want if to play.

The LG player is a better quality player with better build quality but it only plays DVDs and original CDs.
If you want (or may in the future) to play VCD/SVCDs or MP3 or CDRs on the machine then either go for a straight swap or try the Cyberhome. Be aware the Cyberhomes are renown for dodgy build quality though(so you could be unlucky again).

I bought a Acoustic Solutions from Richer Sounds on Saturday.

Haven't had these problems with 3 DVD's I've tried.
Unlocked it for multiregion, and still no probs.

Chuffed to bits with the player.

It plays everything I've chucked at it. CDW, VCD, MPEG1 Files burnt from a PC. Really pleased.

I'd suggest the drive is knacked, take it back and get it swapped.

I asked at Richer Sounds which to go for (Cyberhome or AS), and was told they'd had lots of Cyberhome players back with faults, so opted for the AS.
