They are a good price. However, if they are these, then personally I wouldn't bother.

They were doing Imation 20 for £5 a couple of weeks ago. Hardly any of them would work with my Pioneer DVD writers, fine with standalone DVD recorder though.

Managed to get some in Swansea. They weren't listed anywhere on the shelves and seemed to be mixed in with the 16x and DVD-R's - but there were a few 8x DVD+Rs there which did scan at £5!

Nice one - thanks OP.

Bought a pack of 50 DVD+RW on Friday at the PC World store on Old Kent Rd, London. Have now tried burning them using my Pioneer 106D but Nero keeps spitting them out after the inital format and then telling me that it's an illegal disc! I have upgraded the firmware to the latest version (1.08) but still the same thing happens.

Anyone using the same dvd writer as me with or without the same problems?

Mines burned no problem, in both my home PC and my laptop... I couldn't get my modded Xbox to read them though

They'll do for burning crap on to at least :)

i got the Pioneer 106d and used the disks on offers before the imation dvd +rw x4 without any problems, even though some others had problems with the same disk susing the same drive/firmware. fireware is D: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-106D 1.08. the drive only burns at 2.4x speed with this media though. maybe try that speed?

oh well - I didn't manage to get any discs working with my Pioneer 106D in the end so gave them to my brother who has a LG (forgot what model he has) and he says they worked fine for him. Thanks to those who replied regarding my problem.

Just received a call from PC World saying they can't find any and there has been a mix up (despite stacks of them at normal price :suspect: ). Seems to me this is actually a misprice...

Don't think that this was a simple miss-price as such, as the 4x +RWs were listed on the website and also on the shelves at £5.00. Also PCWorld had several other DVDs and CDs heavily discounted 'to clear' at the same time.

the 50pk pcline dvd+rw listed at £5
the 25pk pcline dvd+rw listed at £16.99

If its a clearance its a strange clearance that prices it at significantly less than the same item with half the number. More likely to sell them at say £2 more

GCfreako

It isn't a misprice. They are clearing the old packs.
