Blueray and HD DVD players. Expected pricing?

I've been reading a report prepared for the organisation I work for and there is a section on HD Home Cinema.

How much are the various players coming out at and when? If possible links to press releases would be great.

Also would a PS3 be regarded as a Bluray player?

Yes, in the same way as the PS2 was regarded as a DVD player AFAIK. Having said that, one minor point, possibly somewhat trivial - i'm usually one for getting these types of things on launch day, i got a PS2 on launch back in the day, and the DVD player had minor lip sync problems, although they were easily fixed by pausing and unpausing.

If you wanted to be 100% certain though, you might try waiting for the "second wave" of PS3's

A HD-DVD drive was announced recently for the Xbox 360 as well, just another possiblity to consider.

i got a PS2 on launch back in the day, and the DVD player had minor lip sync problems, although they were easily fixed by pausing and unpausing.
I remember I had the same problem. I would nudge L2 to rewind slightly and it sorted it out.
