Haven't yet decided which region to go for. I know the R1 is a 2 disc SE with DTS but is anything know about the R2? Ringo's are doing a good price R2 (£14.50) but can't find any details about it. Anybody know anything?

Thanks Grumpy but it's more the R2 specs I'm after. I already have the R1 on order from absound but if the R2 were to be identical then I'd switch to Ringos offer as the release dates are quite close. But I suspect that the R2 will lose the DTS track and maybe even the second disc (probably won't need two discs if there's no DTS track :().

R2:

Disc 1:
Main feature
The History of A.I. documentary (12 mins)

Disc 2: (76 mins)
Steven Spielberg: Our responsibility towards Artificial Intelligence Interview
Ten Featurettes:
David & Gigolo Joe
Designing A.I.
Lighting A.I.
Making A.I.
Special Effects
Robot Characters: Stan Winston Studio
Special Effects & Animation: Industrial Light & Magic
The Sound & Music of A.I.
A.I. Archives

from R2 Project (http://www2.r2-dvd.org/article.jsp?sectionId=2&articleId=3267). Play also have the R2 specs listed now.

DVDShrine have screenshots (http://www.dvdshrine.com/story.shtml?id=8861&cat=current) of the R1. R2 is released by WB, so a 2 disc snapper? also see this thread (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46219). I'm going for R1 for the DTS track and don't want to risk the snapper.

kcxdev Thanks for the update. I'll stick with the R1 I've got on order then. I want the DTS track as well :)

I think I read on the official press release over at R2 Project that it would come in a 2 disc slipcase most probably similar to the one that the Matrix/Matrix Revisited set is in (like the Fight Club packaging).

Sorry if Im slow on the update here but can anyone confirm that the only differance between R1 & R2 is the lack of DTS soundtrack on R2?
If so Im going to Mr Ringos for R2:D

But will the DTS be 5.1 or 6.1? The DD track on R2 is 6.1

have a look at Play, they have the extras listed for both and the r1 seems quite a bit longer (but is TBC). As for the sound, looks like r1 is 5.1 and r2 is 6.1 but alo needs TBC
