connection problem - Help Please

My daughter got a dvd player for christmas, the problem is her old portable tv doesn't have a scart connection, only a normal aerial socket.
Can you buy a lead for a scart connection from the dvd player to the aerial socket on the tv ? Any help would be great.

Can't be done. The aerial signal is entirely different to the output from the DVD player. You will need something called an RF modulator. I think Lektropacks do one. It might be more cost-effective buying a new TV.

If she has a video recorder with a scart, she could run it through that.

Or I might just stick the video upstairs - don't use it anymore any way.

Can you disable macrovision on the DVD player? Otherwise the picture will be distorted when fed to the tv via video :(

If you can't disable it, a new TV may be in order I'm afraid.
