Hey peeps
I got the Anchor Bay "Heathers" tin in September. At the time I played the docu and a bit of the commentary. Tonight I decided to watch the feature but on both my Sony 725 and PC-DVDRom the disc refuses to play at all, as if it can't be read?

I've cleaned the disc and tried other discs in both players (all of which are fine). This is most odd seeing as it was okay 3 months ago!

A while back there was some talk of "Heathers" having been re-pressed and there being a Version 2.0 in circulation (I can't remember the details or the alleged problems with the original presing).

If anyone has any info on how I go about getting the disc replaced after so many months (or indeed if you've experienced any problem with this disc) I'd be very grateful.

Thanks
Richie

I have a copy of the aforesaid disc, and it was marked as version 2.0 on the cover. Anchor Bay must have remastered the disc because of a problem with the initial run. Getting the disc replaced pretty much depends on where you bought it. DVD Box Office have replaced faulty discs in the past, but not sure what other companies do in this circumstances. Expecting a replacement disc after three months might require a little patient explanation and understanding from the seller.

Email them and explain the situation. Got nothing to lose doing that as a starting point I guess.

thanks cervaro
I've emailed DV-Depot, from whom I got the disc. Their slogan is "Where Customer Service Does Matter" so I just hope it's true!
I know it's been 3 months since I got the disc but as it's been proved to be defective surely they should replace it without question?

You'll probably have to pay the postage to send the disc back to Canada (around £1.10-ish). DV-Depot may refund the postage, and even if they don't, better to have a working disc than a duffer I suppose. :)

I'm in the same situation Richie. I watched my copy when I bought it (on release) including the extra's. My bro also bought it but only just got around to watching it - he said his doesn't work. I wanted to show him my copy working and lo and behold mine doesn't work now! Weird!

Anyway, I also got it from DV-Depot and they have some information on their customer forums regarding this. You can return the disc (just the disc) to them and ask them to replace it. What they do is simply slip the new disc inside your next order - say your 7 disc DHL box. Give 'em some time and then when you make your next order, add a note about the replacement disc in the special instructions section.....

As I say, this is all covered in their forums - take a look....

cheers, mjb1975

Had a look at their forum now. Didn't know about that before! To date this is my one and only order with DV-Depot (only place I could be sure of getting the Heathers tin!)
Anyway - having read their returns policy for defective products WHY do I have to wait until I order again to get a replacement copy? What if I don't want to order anything else from them? Gonna wait for a response to my email before I decide what to do.

and oh yeah, how dumb am I?
I posted this thread!!!! (http://thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36726)

Just had this email from Christian at Dv-Depot for anyone it might be useful to:

"Yes we are aware of the problem Heathers is giving some of our
customers. In fact, Anchor Bay is aware of the problem and apparently
repressing corrected DVDs. When we receive replacement product we'll
make a formal announcement on our forum and go from there in regards
to replacements.

In the meantime, please return the disc only (keep the Tin case and artwork)
protected by
a piece of card or something padded, to:

The Digital Video Depot
Returns Department
P.O. Box 71111
Burlington, Ontario
L7T 4J8
Canada

Please send the *cheapest* way possible. Please do not use courier as
that method is very expensive.

Please mark the package 'defective disc being returned' with a value
of ZERO.

Please include a copy of this email so we know what corrective action
needs to be done.

Please let me know of your postage costs and they'll be refunded as
well.

Once the disc is received, Ryan will notify you and we'll wait until
we have replacements."

 They be good peeps!
