Hi,

Thinking of going for either one of these speaker packages from Richersounds :-

1) Eltax Hollywood
2) Teac LS5.1U
3) Limit HT5.1

All of which are £150. Don't have quite a big room to put the speakers in. My sofa is leaning against the wall as well. Would the bipolars rear be a better option then?

Difficult to say which would be best for you - see if you can get into a branch and have a listen. Out of the three, I've only heard the Teac set, and while they aren't the best speakers you'll ever hear, it's difficult to see how anyone could complain for the money. Perfectly listenable, especially if upgrading from just TV sound.

BTW - in Jan 2002 What Hifi, the Teac set is reduced to £120 in store on production of the advert!

As for the rears, again it's hard to say for sure - but if your sofa is against the back wall, and your room is small, the bipolar rears may indeed be a better option.
