2001 has been one of the worst years ever for films as there's been very few good films. It has also got the worst films I've ever seen Dracula 2001, Jeepers Creepers, The Mummy Returns, Series 7: The Contenders and Vertical Limit! I really hope that Hollywood have learned a lesson from this year, they should give us patrons what we deserve, films with a decent unpredictable plot and unforgettable characters!

Really the only films this year that had decent characters where the likes of Shrek and Lord of the Rings what has happened to Hollywood these days? They're making films based on either comics or remakes very few films are originals if any at all! There was far too many disappointing films this year, such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Fast and the Furious, Final Fantasy, Ghosts of Mars and Tomb Raider which I was really looking forward to. I haven't seen any films this year I'd give a Five Star rating to!

The best films I've seen this year are Brotherhood of the Wolf, Lord of the Rings, Moulin Rouge, Rush Hour 2, Shrek and Thirteen Days as they were most entertaining but there was far too few good films! All of these films had well grounded characters which were very gripping and had also an intriguing storyline which is what is needed for a film. There's no point in making films like Jeepers Creepers as there's nothing in it worth praising it for. Hollywood don't seem to care any more, all they want to do line their own pockets without giving the audience what they deserve!

There's hope for 2002 with films like From Hell, Gangs of New York, Ice Age, The Panic Room, Spider-Man, Star Trek: Nemesis and Windtalkers!

With Jeepers Creepers making over 5 times it's budget back I'd say there's every reason for hollywood to keep making them. It was one of the best recent horror efforts.

This year has seen some great films and some poor, but then that's every year.

It's jusyt like your opinion man

I'd give 10/10 to two films this year: Amelie and LOTR... Crocuhing tiger: 9/10, and besides, it is officially 1999... In which the best film was probably.... Memento :) But still, this year has plenty of 9/10 films aswell:

Traffic (was this 99?)
A.I Artificial Intelligence
Shrek
Cast Away
Enemy at the Gates
Score, The

Just my opinion :) Quite a good year. Yeah sure we had a whole host of bad films, more worst than good, but in the last decade, isn't that the way it's always been? (exculding perhaps 1994)...

I think each year is the same - a mix of good and bad. It's all down to personal taste. For Morpheus2000 it's bad but I thought there were some excellent ones too. I, too, really liked Moulin Rouge and the DVD package is probably the best of the year. Some didn't live up to expectations i.e. Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy, but we also have LOTR, Harry Potter, Shrek, A.I. etc. so on the whole, I think it's ended pretty well. That's my opinion anyway :)

Although I've not yet had a chance to see LOTR ( ) because of Christmas commitments and now a 'orrid, 'orrid cold that is making feel grim, it's likely it will go down as one of the greatest films. A number of my friends now have it as their number 1 film of all time.

2001 hasn't been any worse than other years, you will always have some outstanding films, some real let downs, some surprise hits and some real turkies. This year I've managed to avoid the turkies, although I did go and see Pearl Harbour despite the universal panning it got, I was pleasantly surprised by Shrek and quite enjoyed Harry Potter. But the year has ended with a real high with the LOTR which is the best mainstream hollywood film I've gone to see in the past decade and probably the past two decades. It's provided hope that hollywood can still make really good films and for that alone 2001 has given some hope that filmgoers might actually get mainstream films worth seeing.

If anything 2001 and has been the strongest year for films in ages.
Blockbusters despite making money have been quickly forgoten about. Pearl Harbour, Tomb Raider, & The Mummy Returns were all generally met with a luke warm reaction. While Amelie, Moulin Rouge, Brother Hood of the Wolf, Shrek, GhostWorld, Shaolin Soccer, & Battle Royal, (to name but a few) were all generally met with an overwelmingly positive reaction.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was last year btw.

I'd be happy if Ghost World and The Man Who Wasn't There were the only films I'd seen this year..

..neither are perfect, but even their imperfections are better than 99.9% of Hollywood

I thought this film was awful rubbish. I hated every second of it, worst film of the year.
