Pioneer DV340 Multi region. Help Needed

Can anyone out there help me ?
I got a Pioneer DV340 Multi Region player for Xmas, the problem I have is this, R2 discs play fine but today I tried an R1 disc for the first time and although it plays, the picture is Black and White. I know the disc is OK as I have tried it on a friends.

Any suggestions ?

Read the manual that can with the DVD player!! Under TV System setup - No fault with the dvd player, its down to your TV and not setting up the dvd player for your none-NTSC compatible TV! :)

Many thanks for that I have solved the problem. I would have consulted my manual first but it didn't come with one and the suppliers are not back from Xmas until Weds. I saw another post that said you could download manuals from Techtronics, which I've done and sorted my problem.
