Afternoon Folks.

My better half works in a hospital scanning pregnant women. As part of the service they record the Scan onto a DVD. Each DVD is taking about 5mins to finalise, and time is quite critcal as they can scan up to 5 women an hour and often find themselves falling behind.

Now, my question is this. Does anyone know a way to speed up the finalising process?

They are currently using Datawrite Titanium Full-Face Printable (16x) DVD-R (3378) from SVP (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://www.svp.co.uk)
and they are using a Panasonic DMR ES-10

What about using 8cm (http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/product.php?lang=&product_id=3011&menu=media&submenu=&session=196bb2ff16336a3a560f20a4faff03e1) DVD-R's. I honestly can't see a full sized disk being anywhere near full so perhaps the smaller disk is a better bet if only purely from a time apsect.

The finalising speed is down to using DVD-R's. DVD+R's finalise in less than 30 seconds (at least on a computer).

Does the Panasonic record to DVD +? Older Panasonic do not.

How about buying a single DVD+R somewhere and do a test?
