Booked a holiday in February, accommodation 4*. Had a phone call 2 days ago to tell us they have had to change the accommodation which is still all inclusive but a 3*! They have offfered us compensation, an insulting £20 per head! After lots of phone calls they can upgrade us but it will cost us £157 :nono: Can they do this, any advice would be grate :notworthy fully received

Check the small print but I expect the answer is yes - Ask why your original accomodation is not available - why you have to pay to be upgraded to accomadtion of the standard you original booked - and tell them £20 compensation is not enough - if you book via an agent get them involved. - Try ABTA - my guess is they over booked - stick to your guns push for a free upgrade - or £50 per head compensation - threaten to cancel etc etc.

May be worth giving them a call for guidance as well as checking with your local trading standards office.
