I don't know if this is nationwide but Sainsbury's are doing 2L bottles of Pepsi (all varieties) for 68p! This is half the usual price which is equivilent to BOGOF. What's weird is the best deal on Cola I've ever seen is BOGOF, I've never seen a half price deal even though it's effectively the same thing. There are times when I've only wanted 1 bottle or didn't have enough cash so this makes more sense

See post 20 for updates.

well £1.28 at Morrisons BOGOF which equals 64p a bottle ;)

That's BOGOF though, which as I explained is a PITA sometimes

It might be cheap because they are stopping selling it? Tescos by mine have stopped selling pepsi but no idea why!

I prefer Pepsi to Coke as a rule, but will drink either. My other half isn't keen on Pepsi though. :( More for me then. :)

Poundland have Pepsi Max Cino (lovely) and Pepsi Max Tropical (never heard of it till now) on BOGOF, so effectively 50p each. It's in date till 2007.

Pepsi are probably countering to limit the impact of Coke Zero

nope, it will be back. tescos had a massive supply issue with pepsi which led to most of its stores running out of the 2l bottles.

Not if you only have £1.27 and only want 1 bottle

It might be cheap because they are stopping selling it?

I don't think any supermarket would stop selling such a major brand! As mentioned this is a special offer, not a clearence offer. Most supermarkets do BOGOF on soft drinks over the summer every year

Its a new flavour (so it says). I brought a trolly load this morning as we dont have the luxury of a Morrisons or Aldi or Lidl near us. (Just a Sainsburys and Waitrose)

Oh god, since our Tesco was out of Pepsi Max for delivery we popped into Sainsburys and picked up 12 bottles. Mother-in-law just phoned to tell us Sainsburys had a great bargain on and she'd picked up 10 bottles of Pepsi Max for us.

44 litres of highly caffinated beverage, should do for a fortnight or so :)

Just done a Sainsbury's to you shop and added a couple of bottles. Nice cool drink for during the heat!

Bump

Shortly after this started, ASDA price matched and now Sainsburys have started the offer again (although they hint that it might be semi-perminant) which their saying they're price matching with Tesco. So now it seems Sainsbury's, ASDA and Tesco are all doing it

My Tescos don't stock Pepsi anymore but I got some in Asda.

I think Tesco is going through a slight supply problem. I don't think its a case of Tesco no longer stocking Pepsi. I hope...

[edit]I've just had a word with my brother, its an ongoing supply problem. Definitely not dropped.

There's no way Tesco's would stop selling one of their best selling products! As mentioned they're having supply problems

A few weeks ago when I could not find any bottles of Pepsi, I asked in Tesco and the guy at the help desk said it was a "legal matter" and he did not know when (or if) they whould be getting any more in.

Strangely tho there is more and more cans of Pepsi everytime I go in there.

Maybe they're the offspring of the bottles and the legal matter relates to a paternaty matter? That makes more sense that their suggestion!

Maybe Tesco want a better deal from Pepsi and Pepsi aren't going to budge. If they (Tesco) start loosing customers then they'll soon sort it out

Thats what I wondered, but in that case they do not seem to have problems getting cans of the stuff.

I did wonder if it was something to do with Coke Zero there was a huge displace of Coke Zero bottles when it was launched, and I wondered if Pepsi got the hump.

I did a couple of google searches at the time but I could not find any mention of anything, looking in LexusNexus (via work) the only thing I found was some annoucment that Pepsi had some arangement witha bottiling plant in China, and I cant imagine Tesco suddenly getting upset with the situation in Tibet...

I bought some 68p Pepsi max from Tesco's a couple of weeks ago and the bottles were from Poland!

Now i'd expect that from my local corner shop but Tesco's?

Perhaps Pepsi Uk wern't (understandabley) over keen on Tesco importing from eastern Europe and are refusing Tescos any stock.

Looks like my local Asda is having problems getting a supply of normal 2L bottles of Pepsi, as there have been none on the shelves the couple of times I have been there in the past couple of weeks. Plenty of the sugar-free Pepsi varieties available, just none of the normal (and best) stuff. :(

Sainsbury's had loads in Preston with a big ad it was matching Tesco.

Still purchased a nicer bottle of Coca Cola though
