View Full Version : Panasonic TX-32PL10, should I accept it as a replacement for broken TX-32PK20?
My Panasonic TX-32PK20 recently died, so I went to get it replaced and have been offered a TX-32PL10 as a replacement (apparently the PK20 is not being made anymore)
Does anyone know if this new set is the equivalent of the old? I have a sneaking suspicion it might not be.
I can't seem to find much info on it.
Thanks :):):)
My, my what a coincidence. I have just today received my Panasonic 32PL10C from www.empiredirect.co.uk.
I think it is the replacement for the 32PK25 which was the replacement for the 32PK20. I was told this by House of Fraser and empiredirect's customer service. It's a very new TV so not much info available but AFAIK it has all the same features as the outgoing PK25 but in a very sexy new chassis. Still only got two Scart sockets though.
If you have any other questions ask away.

Thanks for the reply Alanok.:)
You mention the 2 Scart sockets thing well my old PK20 had three scarts sockets along with better speakers.
I wondering if there is anything else thats not as good.

Alanok is right that the PL10 is the replacement for the PK 25 which in turn replaced the PK20.
However this replacement offer does not take in to account Panasonics trend of down grading replacement models to allow others to fit in at the upper end of the range and to get the price down on replacements
I have the PF10 which was the for runner of the Pk20. If it was me I would not accept the PL10 as a replacement if there was an chance. Instead I would argue it based on price and would be looking at either the PB50 or PG30, the PG30 being the closest match.

I didn't know the PK20 had thress Scart sockets. I know the PK25 had two and my PL10 has two:( The speakers are downgraded but not really an issue if you have a home cinema setup. Very impressed with it though, better pic than PK25 but same as PK20.
I would have to agree with Ridcully and say that Panasonic do downgrade replacements to fit higher spec models above. As he says I reckon the PG30 is the most direct comparison to your PK20. The PB50 is maybe to higher spec with DD/DTS decoding etc onboard.
