its gonna be different for each inifilm title, and it doesn't mean it has the 'white rabbit' feature, just more extras than a non inifilm title (or so they say)
in the case of Rush Hour 2 it means this...
we've only got about fifteen 2min featurettes that to be honest, aren't that good. so lets make it infini-film where you can watch the movie and watch these short featurettes in the context of that point in the movie and hopefully everyone will deem it to be a revolutionary special edition
except we won't, cos its really annoying to pause the movie to watch a glossy featurette that is best viewed at your own choice via the separate extra features menu where it is all listed like any other SE disc.

IIRC, the initial point with the Infinifilm releases was to provide extras about the movie as well as extras about the real-lige situations that the movie is about. Take Thirteen Days, which had extras about the movie and the Cuban Missile Crisis. Same with 15 Minutes (tosh!). Not so sure about the Rush Hour disc, though...
That should be "real-life" and "Rush Hour 2" :D (curse my feeble brain!)

Well my review pretty much explains it here....

I think Kanedaa is being a little unfair as the best way to view this lot is to watch the film normally first. Then watch it with Infinifilm and fact track on with the director's commentary. That way you listen to commentary which is pretty good and you get text facts up on screen plus you then link to the tiny featurettes as the film goes on... That way makes it a more rewarding experience... And you'll learn more about the film than you ever wanted to know.
Admittedly the rewatchablility of the extras etc is nil but then I don't think the film itself has a high rewatch factor so the extras are suited to the mindless entertainment of the film.
IMHO :)

Well, thats almost how I watched it. I watched the film first (to refresh my memory from the Theatrical viewing), then the multitude of featurettes (which are actually quite enjoyable), and then the film again with Commentary & Fact Track.
I tried to watch it 'Infinifilm' style, but it just ******* me off! Coming away from the film every now and then to watch a brief featurette just doens't work for me, it didn't work on 'The Matrix' and it doesn't work on this film. But thats just personal taste I guess cos obviously some people prefer this idea. All it means to me is that when you branch off to these extra features during the film, they have to be short to hold peoples attention, all this does in the larger scale of things is translate to loads of brief (and often shallow) featurettes where-as if they put the time and effort into cutting the material together into a decent 50 minute featurette it would on the whole be far far better.
The first films 'Platinum Edition' release does just that - has a 40minute featurette, that although it can be viewed in segments much like what the RH2 disc has, just feels far more accomplished and it certainly covers the film far better as a whole. If they could have done this in addition to the 'scene breakdowns', 'deleted scenes' and 'short film' then they would have had a far better disc IMO.
Anyway - in the end it is still a fun disc, but did anyone else notice this....?
In the Audio Commentary & on the Fact Track they mention how when Jackie is crossing the harbour water to get onto the Yacht, if he had fallen in (and indeed, on the fact track it says using the box wasn't just to prevent him from getting wet, but a necessary precaution) then he would be in need of medical attention due to heavy pollution....but then in the extended outtakes he falls in! Yet they don't mention this in the commentary....
just something i noticed and found quite strange.

Yeah that was a bit odd... I thought the box was to aid him cos the water pressure on the box would help lift him slightly so that he could more easily do the hand over hand thing to get to the other side...
Alternatively it was just to keep his feet dry...
As for it being due to pollution maybe they just wanted to talk up J.C's doing his own dangerous stunts side of things... It wouldn't be the first time the truth was bent slightly :)
