Well, despite what some "audiophiles" may tell you, IMO they don't make one iota of difference to the sound.
I use them because they make moving equipment and speakers much easier, and make the whole speaker cable thing much neater.
Not sure I'd pay £5 a pair though - the ones I use are heavy duty gold plated jobbies from CPC for around 80p each.
Five quid a pair would mean £50 just to banana plug up a set of 5 speakers - not really worth it IMO.
The only advantage really is if you intend to unplug and plug your cable much over time. It`s convenience really. If you leave your stuff pretty much alone after setting it up just use bare wire connection, it`s probably better.
ps £5 is a bit steep for a pair of banana plugs.
do you mean £5 a pair as in 2 sets? (2 red 2 white?). I think hifistore do 2 sets (4 plugs) for £6.
I currrently use them for the connections to the amp cos it makes it a lot neater (don't like the idea of having a load of bare wires so close together).
Does anyone know if theres much difference in the quality of these? do you get what you pay for or just go with the cheapest?
