Ghost in the Shell/Jap Anime

Any difference between R1 and R2 of this Jap Anime title?I liked Akira - should I like this?

GITS is excellent !!

its only 1hr 20mins, so its great for repeat viewings.

excellent animation, great story.



Dont buy R2, there are lip sync problems throughout whole film on both languages i think.

R1 is perfect apart from the end song being different, it was changed to a song by Bono of U2 for some reason.



i unfortunately have the R2, didnt realise the lips sync prob till i was told, but it is there.

Thanks, anyone know where I can get R1 cheap from UK based mail order - amazon.com takes too long.

"Excellent animation"? I caught a clip of GITS on some lousy Channel 5 show, and the animation was anything but excellent IMO. Basically the typical 10fps Jap stuff...was well disappointed, because I was interested in getting this based on everyone else's praises. :(

that doesn't sound like the GITS i have sitting on my shelf, chances are they borked the clip.

also a lot japanese animation i have seen is on a par (and sometimes far superior) to Disney/American animation released in the same year.

I recommend watching the full film next time it is shown on Sci-Fi.

GITS is very good, IMO. I understand R1 is the best version, which I think you can get from www.play247.com - but I could be wrong (it has been known). ;)

you'll get it cheaper importing direct, but I guess you must be bound by a Switch card or something like that :D

I got mine from dvdboxoffice (http://www.dvdboxoffice.com) for only 13 pounds (-ish)

but I did have to wait 6 weeks for it to arrive!

They are without doubt the slowest retailer on the face of the planet, but if you want it cheap and are not in a particular hurry, they are perfectly useable.:D
