View Full Version : Shameless... a good blind buy ?

Hi

I have recently watched Spaced ( all seasons ) and I just loved.

Anyway ... I will probably buy the two Shameless dvd Seasons.

But first I need some opinions because I have never watched this show.

Is it better than Spaced ?

Is it a good blind buy ?

It is a different genre to Spaced for one thing (it is a comedy drama, Spaced is 'just' comedy), but equally good. Shameless is one of the better written series to appear on C4 for some time, and the series one set is selling for around £6 or something silly now (in HMV at least) so it is worth a punt and get the second series if and when it finally comes down in price, perhaps...

i thought shameless would be just some northern comedy, but it is well written and i love it!

Bought the first series blind myself a few weeks ago after recommendations on here, was never sure about it before as I didn't think it would be my sort of thing, but really enjoyed it and bought the second series straight away, now desperately waiting for the release of series 3!

I'll be the sole voice of dissent then! I think Shameless is rubbish. It's also incomparable to Spaced - completely different types of show.

I was beginning to think I was alone! I can't stand this show. Perhaps the episode my friend recommended to me was below par, but it just totally put me off.

brilliant show, very funny and genuinely moving at times, one of the best shows on TV IMO.

Nah, I've caught 4 or 5 episodes and they've all been awful.

I don't think it's a show where you can come in and just watch the odd episode, it's story driven.

You can't base an opinion on one episode. Was it the xmas special you saw i wonder? That was a bit crap.

'A bit crap' doesn't cover it. :) I love the show, but nope, that special was awful. :gag:

I thought the first series was really good, the Christmas special okay, and the second series rubbish.
