bERNIE

I recently bought a new Pioneer 545 to replace my Toshiba 2109. The Tosh was plugged into the RGB socket and the picture was obviously very good. Got the pioneer home and set it up for RGB, the menu system upon switching to RGB was noticebly clearer, however...
When watching a film with the output set to RGB the image is simply too bright. If the film is widescreen and the image is fairly light then borders at the top of the picture actaully lighten up! The image is ever so slightly up and to the right I think compared to the non-RGB setting. The is pretty annoying to say the least, plug the Tosh back in and all is fine. Because the RGB image witrh the Pioneer is so bright everything looks colour banded on the TV, ie like a badly encoded sky digital image due to lack of bandwidth on some channels.
Going from memory the TV is a panasonic TX-W32D4DP or something like that.
Any ideas?? Would an IXOS cable help? I have tried a few different (normal) scart leads and all do the same.
