View Full Version : Jpeg viewer / photoshop colour differences

I've noticed today that when I view a jpeg, of one of my pix, in 'windows picture and fax viewer' the colours are different (more intense) than when I open it in photoshop cs. I have also noticed that when I upload a picture to flickr the colours / brightness appear different.

I keep meaning to sit down and learn all about colour spaces and calibration. Does anybody else experience the same as me?

Yes.

I tend to get much more tonal range (especially in dark areas) in PS than I do in flickr, even when looking at what is ostensibly the same jpeg. TBH, I just like with it and amend the shot if it's doesn't look right in a browser.

Thanks lticket, I've read your thread and maybe I'm just thick but I'm none the wiser. I don't understand why different programs display an image differently?
