Downstairs, we have a Sony 28" (non-Wega) widescreen television purchased around 3 or 4 years ago. I think the model number is 28WS2.
Recently, I have noticed the whole screen moves to the right and left. It happens very quickly and lasts for no more than a few seconds. It is most noticeable when using the Sky EPG or Sky Active where you can see the whole screen moving from side to side slightly. It also happens even when no input is being received. For example, if I go to the Sky channel but turn Sky off, I get the Sony Sky ->1 green writing in the top left of the screen against a black screen. Even the TV generated green writing moves from left to right slightly.
Is this common?
