It's my dad's birthday in four days. I would like to get him a DVD player, because he's never owned one before. There isn't a lot of space under his TV, so it has to be a slim-line model. Also, he loves Sony kit. He's got a Sony widescreen TV, Sony VCR and Sony Hi-Fi. Therefore I'm assuming he'd like a Sony DVD player. It doesn't have to be multi-region, although that would be a big bonus. My budget is £50.
I've found the Sony DVP-NS36 (http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProduct.action?product=DVP-NS36&site=odw_en_GB&pageType=Overview&category=DVD+Player) for £50 over at Amazon.co.uk, but I don't think it's multi-region. Does anyone know if this is a decent player, and if a multi-region hack is available for it? Could anyone suggest a similarly priced alternative from a reputable brand (Panasonic/Pioneer/Denon)?
Many thanks in advance!
