About time.
What a shame, how will he fund his drug habit now?

I imagine another deluded bunch will pick him up soon. I hope not though....

Crying shame.
Someone will pick him up as all the media around him (for all the wrong reasons) will be good for the record company.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
Oh Dear. How Sad. Never Mind.

I have to laugh as people complain about why this nobody grabs all the headlines and when he does something it gets reported as news and ends up on here.
Probably the best thread so far though. :D

Looks like he'll be selling his ass soon.

I think he's done that already! At least if you believe what hes said in a number of early interviews :gag:
Kinda puts to bed the old adage that all publicity is good publicity.
Has anyone actually listened to his music? I know that the twerpy editor of Uncut thinks he's an unsung genius but he seems like the only one.
That record company would have dumped hime because he's not selling records and they doubt he's going to sell any great amount anytime soon ie he's got no musical talent (not that should be any good reason looking at the Top 20).
/awaits the next frenzy about his _________________ (I'll fill that in later).
Not exactly news, this:

I'm sure Doherty shifts more than enough units for a label like Rough Trade - but ultimately keeping a ****stain like him on their roster will reflect upon them. The original story was that his contract was suspended until he cleans up, so likely he won't be free to sign to a different label. Depends on the terms of his contract.
Hope he ODs and dies now. :)

no matter how much of a fool he is, wishing death on anyone is a bit harsh, maybe just about for someone like saddam or Mugabi or hitler etc etc, but some drugged up fool of a pop star? bit much really :|
I hope he finally sees the error of his ways and cleans himself up
Oh please! The world would be better off if he was compost.

Me. I did and actually quite liked the Babyshambles album. Ok, it droned on a bit in places, but when it was good, it was very, very good.
As for the drugs thing, seems its ok when Primal Scream and The Streets etc glamorise coke.

The album isn't bad, a bit patchy, but some great songs. Saw them live at the Reading Festival last year and they were a pretty good live band.
Hope he ODs and dies now. :)
I'd rather he was raped with a tree. It'd be more painful.
I don't care if he does drugs, but squirting his blood at people? wtf?

If Mugabi's on the list I'd like to add George W. Bush and if Tony Blair happens to be in the car while it explodes I'd be a little bit bad but not much.
Doherty is slowly dying and I'm sure it'll come to him sooner rather than later. Knowing him it'll probably happen getting out of the bath*
*I'm in no way accusing the man of having a high level of hygiene.
Me.
Erm you think he's an unsung genius or have listened to him music? I guess my post did open up this kind of misunderstanding. TBH, I didn't like the Libertines so never got round to Babyshambles but despite the drug-addled headlines, it may actually be worth a listen then?
BTW, on those wishing him dead, The indelicates have already written a track about it Waiting for Pete Doherty to die (http://www.indelicates.com/moremp3s.html) - a bit of cheap shot if you ask me...

Oh, he's not a genius by a loooooooooooooong shot, I just liked the album a little bit. It was too long, certainly, and could have been a great single album rather than a 'three side' epic.
Also liked quite a few of the tracks off the LP, Albion is a blinder no matter what you think of the bloke.

I agree with KRW, there is a really good shorter album in there, get rid of the filler tracks. But it is well worth a listen, no matter what you think of the bloke.

Docherty does have a talent particually with lyrics- Listen to the first libertines Cd and compare it to the clumsy lyrics of the Dirty Pretty things album. But that talent now seems to be lost, snorted/injected away.

I'd rather not if that by numbers first single is anything to go by. :p
I don't mind some of The Libertines stuff (though have never creamed my pants over them), but can't get excited at all about Babyshambles or Dirty Pretty Things.
