Is available instore only at Boots.

The details of the portable player PET 710 are on here (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=4907&a=60823&g=38424&url=http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1067131&classificationid=1041370&slmRefer=000)

I bought one about 8 months ago and use it all the time. It has an aluminium case so gives it the feeling of solidity.

I also spotted the recorder DVDR3305.

Many thanks W-E-J!!!
Picked up the pet710 from Boots in Colliers Wood today. Love it!

Just one question for anyone else that owns one. I've been charging the battery all night and the red light is still lit. Is this normal on a first charge as the manual says that the light will go out after approx 4.5 - 6.5 hours.

When I got mine there was none on display, so i asked at the photo counter. They had them under the counter and rang up as £149.99 initially but something was flagged when this happened and the assistant asked me if it should be £99.98.

I bought a PET710 last year for £149 and it's nice and compact.I previously bought one of the cheapo ones (Medion??) that Kwik Save were selling for £100 and it was fine until I connected the battery and it was just too chunky for my liking.Bought the Philips and haven't looked back.Nice and slim and excellent pic/sound!!
I'm sure you won't be disappointed! :D

I might have to go and grab one off the display and be a bit cheeky at the counter....

Not as far as I know but i've never actually tried.
Feedback on the forums when I was searching for info on this model seemed to suggest that it won't play DivX.

In the Newcastle store yesterday, I noticed that they had the Philips 3005 DVD Players on "clearance" for £19.99...

Now if that's not a bargain (progressive scan, multi-region (via hack), plays just about anything)...

Grabbed one as a "spare" :p

I got one of the Philips portables today

I was going to go in and ask at the counter to see if it scanned at £99.98 but I didn't have to! They were all marked as clearance this time.

There's a couple left at the Boots in Leeds if anyone else wants to get one :D

Anyone had any experience with these guys? They are selling the Phillips PET710 Portable DVD player mentioned above for £84.95, which seems very cheap. None of the Botts ear me has any stock :(
I don't want to order from them without being sure they are legit though!
Thanks
