Connections Wrong?

I've just got a Pioneer DV545 for xmas and am well pleased with it. Its Multi Region and Macro Disabled.

I've already got a Sky Digibox (2 scarts), Video (2 Scarts) and a TV with 1 scart and am trying to hook it all together.

I've asked for advice before on this and have connected it as follows:
Digibox (vcr out) to Video
Digibox (tv out) to DVD (AV Connector 2)
DVD to TV (AV Connector 1)

This all seems to work fine for watching and recording tv and watching videos and dvd's.

I'm not having any luck taping from dvd using the vcr as it just picks up what is on Sky and not what the DVD is playing! Has anyone got any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Is my setup incorrect?

When connecting using a 'loop through' configuration, put unwanted units (in this case the digibox) to standby. If you want more flexibility than this than you need a scart switcher.
