I believe the song is about his Dad dying of cancer so that particular line is about the inevitability of death for someone with terminal cancer.

If I were a cat in a bag waiting to be drowned I'd be thinking:

1. "FFS, what's happening here?"

2. "OMFG, what's that water sound?"

3. "I've only used 3 of my lives you bas!"

If none of that means nowt to the OP then replace "cat in back waiting to be drowned" with "jew in concentration camp waiting for a 'shower'".
