playing cd-r on samsung dvd-511

my samsung dvd-511 qill not accept cd-r discs. is there any way to force it to play cd-r's, i.e. chipping or remote control hacking?

isnt the 511 a new version of the 709? if so go to http://www.709online.com for all your Q&As - the only cd-rs which i found work are the vivistars from argos (50 in a pack for £20)

Also the Sirius ones work in the 709 (not sure about the 511) but you can only get them from computer fairs.I could get some for you if you want to pay postage on them.

Try Maxell CDRW's from Argos and record it as a CD Extra.I found this method to work on my Sony 725.

In general, single laser DVD players will be reluctant to play CDRs, but will usually be happy playing CDRWs (any make).
