View Full Version : Xbox display on a PC ?
As I have a PC I am obviously an expert on all things computer related in any shape or form (or so my wife tells anyone who has a computer problem that I have to fix)
One of our friends son has a xbox (NOT 360) and they want their telly back so want to know how to connect the xbox to their computer monitor (IIYAMA Pro 511 CRT)
Any help gratefully received - Is there a cable available ?
1. Feed the xBox TV signal into the PC using a tv capture card (expect the picture quality to suck though) or ...
2. Get an xbox to vga converter, along the lines of THIS (http://www.gameseek.co.uk/pd/Multimkezh99bfnwz1y2/Venom-Games-Console-to-PC-Monitor-Adapter-XGA-6-in-1-Converter-) or THIS (http://www.consoleplus.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1125) .
Does anyone have any experience of using VGA boxes like these? Which provides the best picture quality?
I had a vga box about 3 years ago for my xbox, cant remember who made it but the picture quailty was crap. They might of got better by now, well they should do if they charge you upto £50 for one!

Works out at £40 ish. You will need to mod to xbox to NTSC to enable the HD modes though.

Don't buy any of the cheaper VGA boxes - pretty naff quality.
The X2VGA+ is the way to go - had one a while back and it was excellent - but as mentioned above, it needs the Xbox to be run in NTSC mode......
