This question has probably been ask many times before and i've looked through the forums but cannot find it.

I'm using Real Magic Hollywood Plus,Win'98, and connect to T.V.
My problem is >>> About a half hour into a DVD movie I start to get what could be called a "LAG" or "Short Freeze" , it last for about 3 seconds and then movie resumes play right from where the "LAG" started (nothing is missed).Movie will play for about another 15 minutes and same thing happens again. It can get a bit annoying.Any help would be appreciated.Thank You in advance.

sounds like there is something running in the background...

have you got a virus checker/ screen saver/ fast find utility or similar running... (look and see whats running in the bottom right hand of your screen and check each one in turn).

one of these might drop in every 15 minutes and generate some CPU activity, causing the blip in the DVD playback.

I've shut everything down except "explorer" but I'm still getting the "lag".I just finished watching "Pearl Harbor" and the first disk ran for about 30 minutes when lag started, then the lag was on and off for about another hour and then everything was fine.I then put in disk 2 and the Dvd only lagged twice through out Disk 2.Any other ideas on what might be causing this?
Thank you.

Tryed closing "explorer" , still getting "lag.
Ran a "PC-Doctor for Windows" diagnostics test on my DVD Rom and got a >>>
Failed on
"Linear Read"
SCSI Error 6400H.
Failed action: Reading block 149300
SCSI Error 6400H.
Failed action: Reading block 149400

I have no idea what this means.Could this be my problem. Any input would be appreciated.
Thank You

But with the extra info, it looks like it could be a damaged disc, and possibly the machine keeps re-trying these blocks before eventually giving up and skipping to the next one and that in turn causes the lag.

To be honest though, I don't really know too much about this either.

Does it only happen with one disc or is it all your DVD's?

If it does only happen with one disc then I would probably say it's gonna be that!

Hope this helps.
