Just about decided on one of these from http://televisionbargainbasement.20m.com/

Seems to be a very good set at a very good price. Can anybody offer any alternative suggestions or reasons to think again before taking the plunge.

Cheers
Joe

seanet, this is a graded set,why not buy it new,Digital Direct are doing it for £950 in the back of Januarys' What Hi-Fi.They don't have a website,I'll dig the number out for you later as I'm just off to work.

Thanks ABC. What exactly is graded? I presume it means not new? Reconditioned? I've rather buy new if you can get me that number.

but is the set all it's cracked up to be? Is there a better equivalent by JVC or Panasonic etc?

Thanks,
Joe

Graded is supposed to mean it's failed a quality check and then been repaired by Hitachi and you only get a 3 month warranty. This TV has had some excellent write ups and I,ve had one of these bought as an ex-repair,brilliant picture and great sound but it had to go back as there was a white patch on the screen.
I'll get you that number this evening when I'm back at home.

Digital Direct's number is:01204 414101.
Can't comment on Panasonic or JVC but the JVC AV32WT1(I think that's the model number)is quite highly thought of,I've seen the 28 inch version which had a pretty decent picture, although it's hard to tell ultimately as it was in Currys, not set up to watch DVD's etc..
