Freeview Picture Quality

Hi, I am having serious problems when viewing some programmes on my Freeview system, the problem seems to be really noticable when viewing football on ITV3 and in other channels too, it really is pretty unwatchable as the picture is very "pixelated" and blocky it looks like a feed you might get through a poor internet connection. I live in a block of flats and the communal aerial is located in the loft so I don't expect a "perfect" picture. Would a signal booster be any good in this case??
Any advice greatly appreciated, as I do not want to suffer any drama during the upcoming world cup.

You could try a signal booster, but get it from somewhere who'll accept it back for a refund if it does no good
