Well, what a week. 23 entries and 47 votes (including the last minute, "is this ebay" style voter), making it one of the biggest weeklies we've run yet ...
So, without further ado-doo, here are the results in reverse order ...
In Third Place, the King of Sming, the Dundee Duke of Decrepitude himself ... tinder with Open Door

In Second Place, the Viscount of the Valleys, the Prince of Post-Processing, Matholwch with Slate Works' View

.... but, let the bells ring and the streets throng with well-wishers, for the overall First Place winner, the Lord of Low Light and First Earl of Furnace Photography, swsxp02, with Smiffy.

Well done on your outlandish win and of course on producing one of the best images I've seen on the forums, full stop.

A superb winner - the best shot by some distance IMO, with kudos to the 2nd and 3rds as well.

Well done top three but that Smiffy one's the best I've ever seen on the forums Brill
Yeah - it was a strong week anyway, but that Smiffy shot - wow.

no-one had a chance of catching that one and with good reason! well done swxthingy02 and congrats to the runners up :notworthy
Well done to the winners. What an excellent lot of submissions.
Blimey! Quite overwhelmed with the number of votes. I have to admit that even though I quite like the image, I do not really see that it deserves all of this. But thanks very much to everyone that voted.
FYI, this was taken at the National Museum Of Welsh Life, St Fagans Cardiff. They held an open weekend with many exhibitions and displays. The Smith was giving a demonstration by making a candlestick holder. It was taken at 1/13sec, without a tripod - the 'IS' of the 24-105mm really earning it's keep. I converted to a tinted mono and performed some selective dodging and burning.
Well done the runners up, Matholwch (I *knew* that was yours!) and Tinder (With a fashion all of your own, I knew that too, although you do appear to have a couple of people emulating your once-unique style, but I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery).
This win does however, leave me with a slight problem. I am leaving in the morning for a ride to Croatia and will not return for 10 days. So I really need a big favour from someone, and host the comp for me next week. I will gladly return the favour and can even supply some webspace if required.
Anyone ?

Emeyedeejay. Many thanks - I really do appreciate it. It's a thankless task and involves quite a bit of work (and I'm sure you'll be hosting on your own merit soon)
I've started a thread, so just let me know your email addy and I edit it.
Oh, and also let me know if you need some space.
Cheers mate
yay 5th - much better than I usually do.
Congrats to everyone.

Congrats all
I must be in the minority in that I wasn't overly keen on the winning shot. Technically excellent but it does nothing for me
I'm happy enough with 4th, I seem to be landing there a lot now, lol. The spikey image was taken at our lovely local park at brummyland. The spots on it are paint splashed over it from graffiti on the wall below. It was quite a striking blue colour, but the walls were so busy with graffiti it killed the focus point.

Congratulations swsxp02 :notworthy , had a sneaky suspicion that no.3 was yours - reminded me of another winning entry of yours in the past - the winding path; had the same dodge'n'burn and colour tint. The fact that you didn't vote for it, confirmed my suspicions  Once I knew it was yours, it had to be St. Fagans!
Congrats Tinder, another moody shot of urban decay - the puddle/stain on the stairs at the front gave it a nice foreground interest, leading you up the stairs (my voting reflected my feeling).
Cheers for the votes, I try to get out and about everytime I head back up to North Wales (as always - very jealous of sworrall's opportunities).
Oh, have fun in Croatia, I'm sure we're all looking forward to seeing the photographs

Well done to the winners
That smithy shot certainly had the wow factor.
Three great winning photos and different styles too. The blacksmith shot could have gone wrong for many reasons, but you nailed it perfectly.
