Can anyone recommend me music like the Kings Of Leon? I like their style, gruff, scraping vocals and plenty of guitar, including little wild solos. Something like that?

I'm bored with most of todays music and need something new! :(

The Rakes maybe?

The Greenhornes? I have only listened to a bit (based on a couple of them being in The Raconteurs) but they may fit the bill.

There are a couple of tracks available to listen to on their web site

Greenhornes sound pretty good. A couple of their songs sound a bit like Mudhoney which is a damn good thing.

Nashville rock act / London Indie act?

White Stripes? Beck? Black Crowes? Queens Of The Stoneage?

I'm a huge White Stripe/QOTSA fan already. I think it would have to be something a bit less well known.

Haven't heard it or got it yet. Any good? Actually it's not out yet is it? I've seen them live and thought they were awesome and bought Peace Love Death Metal which is great.

Saw them in Earl's Court supporting Foo Fighters, they were laughably bad. Comedy yank rockers.

Out over here on Monday (Death By Sexy). If you liked the first you'll love the second. Slighlty more serious but more of the same really.

I saw them at T in the Park. I was right at the front and they were ace.

Got Strokes stuff too but I've gone off them. :(

Went through the whole grunge phase and love all that stuff. Just want something a bit more raw, almost grating. Mudhoney/Kings Of Leon kind of thing.

Wonder if you would like any of Billy Childish's stuff? Very basic garage rock'n'roll. Has been doing the same thing forever.

The Cramps? Again, more r'n'r but their first 3/4 albums remain utter genius.

Tell you what, try and pick up something by The Sonics. 60s Seattle punkers who wrote the rulebook. And if you like that, you'll spend the rest of your days exploring the whole 60s garage scene, Pebbles compilations, etc.

I have no idea what they sound like, but Japan's Guitar Wolf may be worth investigating.

Pixies?
I'm a big Foo/qotsa/KOL fan and I still love listening to my Pixies albums

Only thing I've heard by Billy Childish is a b-side to one of the Mudhoney singles called 'You make me die now'. Might check him out.

I'll check out some of that 60s stuff too.

finlab I'm all Pixied up and saw them live. Never get bored of them!

I'm a big Mark Lanegan fan! Kyuss's singer's voice bothers me so I've never gotten into them. Death From Above 1979 sound interesting though. Gonna check them out further.

Oh and went for The Greenhornes - Sewed Souls. Only £5.99 on Play and worth a punt going by the stuff I've heard over the last couple of days. Also pre-ordered that Raconteurs album. Sounds great.

Thanks all.

If you like the White Stripes you could do far worse than check out the The Black Keys (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://playcom.at/thedvdforums?DURL=http://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/677323/Rubber_Factory/Product.html). I love that album I've linked to

Just been listening to that. Sounds exactly like the kind of stuff I'm looking for. Just listened to Big Come Up too and it's ace. Cheers.
