Whichever was on a free, cashback deal and gave me free mins and texts :D
a blackberry sounds good though.
Can you get the Treo 650? Quality for Emails and GPRS.
I can only chose from that list and it's totally free - no call charges or text charges on any of them.

A toss up between the K750i or the Nokia 6230i, and if it's free, then even better!!
Have to be the K750i then. Sounds like me free calls and txts etc from the company phone :D

The K750i and 6230i are old phones now though.
Phone technology moves so fast, I normally end up going for the latest one that's around, as long at it's free and they usually are.

I've got a K750i and it's a great phone, but as xraystan says it is a year old now. There's some new Nokias and SEs coming out in the next few weeks if you can hold on. If it has to be out of those listed I'd get the K750i.
Personally I'd go for the Qtek v1240 - it's the equivalent of the imate SP5 smartphone, running Windows Mobile 5 and has built-in wifi. It can do everything that the K750i/6230i do, plus a lot more. It's also probably the newest out of that bunch and should fetch the most on ebay should you decide to sell it on.

Do we really want to be adding to the massive consumption of electronics just so we can have the latest gadget?

Not sure I understand that? I've had (consults list :suspect: ) nearly 50 mobiles, and not one of them has been thrown out. If it works, you sell it. If it is broken, then it is generally time for a new one anyhow.
I thought 'normal' people just dumped their old handset in a drawer or something

Avoid the Motorola Razrs/V3s. Look cool, absolutely gash to use. Wish I'd never gone for it :gag:
If other Motorolas use the same OS then avoid them too.

Really? I thought they'd got good reviews?
Was just about to upgrade to one!
ive looked at one and it looked hard to use from the off, im rocking a nokia 1100 i think, £17.99 on play and 400mins and 1k texts.
stick to the oldskool.

I love the irony of this statement followed by the leeching of somone elses bandwidth.

How is leeching bandwidth in anyway analagous to the resources being wasted in the yearly/18mth mob upgrade cycle?
How many people use even half the functionality of their current phone before upgrading to the latest/greatest?
I wouldn't say the V3 is horrible to use, but it might depend on what you normally use on a mobile. Mine is used to send texts and make calls and, very, very occasionally, browse WAP sites.
So, easy to use and looks cool! I am very style over substance when it comes to mobiles though. My contract will be up this summer and I doubt I'll change as there's nothing that grabs me at the mo. Possibly the V3i or V3x but then the latter is thicker so not as cool.

Yep this is by far the best of the bunch, only thing you loose out on is the 2mp camera (which is pretty redundent if you have a dedicated digital), lots of cool stuff that you can do with Windows Smartphones and it has the ability to sync with your Outlook for contacts and Calender.

I'm pretty sure both Nokia and SE phones allow you to sync with outlook, I can't verify though as I don't have either software installed on this. A decent camera is very useful I find, I always have my mobile on me and rarely carry my camera round with me (at least not when I need it ;))

Looks to me like a site full of affiliate links.
I've got the K750 and it's great, also has one of the best cameras on a phone.

The screen resolution and camera of the K750i are great but I'm fast falling out of love with mine.
The menu screen is slow and cumbersome to get through, the joystick is annoying to use and sometimes will just not respond.
I left Nokia last year to get this phone and I'm thinking about going back to Nokia and the N80 when my contract's up in July.

Is yours Vodafone branded? Mine was and I debranded it and that sped up the menus, it would seem Vodafone don't write very good code. If the joysticks not responding take it back and get them to replace the joystick. That's what I did with my old K700i

How do you debrand it? I have a nokia n70 on vodafone and it is so slow to turn on..zzzzz....

Does debranding count as unlocking & is banned from being mentioned here? don't want to get booted for putting a link up!!

Thirded. I have a SPV C600 (the orange-branded, non-wifi equivalent) and it's superb. Had a C500 before that which was great too. As much PDA-ness as you'd need, but in a nice "normal phone" size/shape and that works exactly as a phone should for calling, texts and the like.

The bluetooth on the motorolas is pretty slow and very tempremental.

I get a new phone every year on my contract, but always sell my old one on ebay, so the old phone doesn't end up in landfill somewhere.
Even if you can't be bothered selling yours, there are plenty of charities who are willing to sell yours on to raise money - there was an article in the guardian last Saturday about this (can't find it on their website though)
Motorola SLVR L7 Live!
SonyEricsson K750i Live
The first one purely being personal preference.

It's O2. The menus aren't superslow but sometimes they seem to hang when you click on an icon for just a couple of milliseconds too long. Just long enough to be considered annoying!
Maybe I'm being hypersensitive
I got it from O2 online. Would they replace the joystick if I sent it back to them? I got the phone in July last yr.
