Hi all, just installed some software for my phone on my laptop at work which runs Win 2k. However it gave me an error message when attempting to start it up which said:
the procedure entry point restorelasterror could not be located in the dynamic link library kernel32.dll

Any one know how to get around this problem? I did some googling and found a programme to try out but sadly it didn't work.

Any suggestions?

Are you sure the software works with Windows 2000? It might be Win XP only.
The error is saying that its trying to find a routine in a DLL, and it can't find that routine. This would normally indicate the DLL is out of date, but kernel32.dll is one of the main system DLLs, and as such, wouldn't be out of date.

Whats the software called?

The software is "Oxygen Phone Manager II" (http://www.opm-2.com)

Are you on SP4 for Win 2000? Is it a 'proper' install of Win 2000, or was it upgraded from something else? (eg, Win98, etc)
have you tried it on another Win 2000 box?
Have you tried contacting Oxygen support? I see they've got a support forum (although nothing comes up if you search for 'restorelasterror')

It's SP4 yes, and yes it's a legit version of Win 2k as it's a company laptop :)

Will try it on another then, thanks :)

Sorry - I didn't mean legit as in a hookey copy, but whether it was installed from new, or upgraded from a previous operating system.
