I've just got Bulldog broadband installed today but am struggling to get my emails working. I've got all the account, pop & smtp settings correct (the test account option works ok) but when I try to send I get this error in Outlook:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
'name@isp.com 18/04/2006 14:33
550 relaying mail to isp.com is not allowed
(email addy details amended from ones used)
Any ideas?

You are using the Bulldog SMTP server to send email? And you're authenticating? Is this with Microsoft Outlook, or Outlook Express?

I've only seen this when you are using another ISP's SMTP server.

I was with NTL before and used smtp.ntlworld.com but have changed them to mail.bulldoghome.com as per Bulldog's faq. Should log on using SPA be checked?

Looking at the bulldog web site try:
In the Incoming mail (POP3/IMAP) field type mail.my-bulldog.com
In the Outgoing mail (SMTP). field type mail.my-bulldog.com

Yes, and 'my-bulldog.com' is 'bulldoghome.com'
I've sent myself an email thru my Yahoo account (by logging onto the Yahoo site) and the Outlook has recived the email, so it looks like it's just outgoing it's struggling with.

I'm out of ideas, everyother time i've seen this using the ISP's own mail server has sorted it.

Did you create this from scratch or try to alter your email settings on the account you set for NTL ?
