Thanks to Tesco & Wharfdale ( see this thread (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41727) ), my other half needs a new telly.

Does anyone have any recommendations for good deals at the moment?

We'll be traipsing around the sales next weekend, but in the meantime, I'm looking at prices on the net. Moneys pretty tight, so it'll have to be a 28"er. She's had enough of the "budget" brands, and wants a Sony/Panasonic/Toshiba/JVC.

Having had a quick look on-line (mainly thanks to Pricerunner) tonight, I've noticed the Panasonic TX-28DK1, the Toshiba 28W93B and the JVC AV-28WT5.

Having owned a Panny before, I'm biased towards suggesting one to her, but I don't want to discount other possibilities.

Any suggestions / help would be gratefully received! :)

I too have £300 burning a hole in my wallet, and a wide expanse of space above my DVD Player and Cable box. I can stretch to about £500 at the most, any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Another vote for the JVC AV-28WT5, cracking TV with loads of inputs for all DVD, VHS and Digi Boxes ect along with excellent picture quality. Rizel

Not sure you should pay extra for pro-logic if you either already have/ plan to get amp/speakers. Reason being, unlike amp/speakers, the pro-logic bit of the TV cannot be sold separately when no longer needed!

Hence, I would recommend the JVC AV28WFT1EKS. Flat screen, superb picture, looks really nice (your wife will like it!) and several ppl on here have it and can't speak highly enough of it! £489.99 delivered at www.storeplus.co.uk (cheapest I've seen it) but spend 5-10 mins signing up for your own free, fully hosted storeplus internet shop (one form to fill out!) and you could get the JVC for as little as £420! That's because storeplus give you up to 75% of the profit margin back in the form of commission/discount on any sales/purchases made thro your own store! Worth thinking about IMHO (my wife has her own store!)0

Are there any other commitments to setting up your own store? Sounds interesting to me mate.

Seriously though, thanks for the advice guys. I'll suggest the JVC to her, and see what she says. ;)
