After picking up the NOES box set a while back in the HMV sale, I finally settled down to watch the first film on my Wharfedale M5.

Arrrrrrgh! The flippin' thing keeps going back to the main menu. How annoying is that? Annoyingly, it seems to work OK on my PC, although it seems to switch on the subtitles occasionally.

Presumably this is another great EiV cock-up. Does anyone know if a re-pressing has occured? Or does anyone have a contact address for EiV? Very usefully, the web address they give in the packaging is for New Line. Bloody cowboys!

I have the same problem with my Scan SC-2000. I suppose the answer is just to wait for an upgrade in the player's firmware.

I want to watch it!

You should have got the Region 1 NOES box set, it's got all 7 films, unlike the R2 which only has 5 and it includes a bonus disc that has a good selection of Features on.

I am a die hard fan of the franchise so I got the R1 because you get all the films together.

But the region 1 version does cost twice as much as the Region 2 version.

So it's swings and roundabouts.

More like 4 times as much! :)

I paid £85.00 for mine and worth ever penny. I'm not tight with money, If I won't something I get it. The Nightmare collection is worth it, why pay whatever you paid for 5 out of 7 parts and you get an 8th disc to boot. Pure class set. I think I may go and watch the first movie now after I've admired the collectors box.

I also got the set in the HMV sale and recently started watching it and have the same trouble on my Toshiba 210. The problem seems to be when pausing the disc and re-starting it, the disc then plays OK until the end of one of the dream sequences, when it goes back to the menu. Obviously a glitch to do with the special feature which enables you to play only the dream sequences.
