Sygate Firewall alerted me that the above program (which I have never installed) and located at "C:\Program Files\TrixelAds\TrixelAds.exe" was trying to connect to www.doubleclick.net. Managed to kill the process and delete the program but it evidently wasn't caught by AVG in the first instance and I can't find much online about this blighter (in English).

Just a heads up really. Watch out :suspect:

And if anyone knows anything about this prog then please add to the thread...

Cheers,
Mike.

The main way to install most .exes is to allow it so AVG may ignore it as you gave it permission.

I'm sure if you trace back you'll work out where you installed it.

Checked everything and my best conclusion at the moment is some wacky javascript exploit. IIRC, at the time the file was supposedly created I was just web-browsing; didn't install nuffink.

No harm running your PC through Ewido (http://www.ewido.net/en/download/) to satisfy yourself.

It runs live checks for a fortnight or so and after that you have to check manually. Great app and it would have caught that .exe I think.
