Gone with the wind - special edition soon?

region 2 - shiny gold package and .... that's it! No extras and a flipper to boot. :(

region 1 - ditto.
region 4 - AArgh, the same.

I mean, only one of the most popular films EVER.

Tell me there's a special edition planned?

I have no problems with it being a flipper - although two discs would have been better - given its length and the picture quality which has been achieved.

However, I agree about the lack of extras. There is at least one lengthy documentary about the making of the film extant - it's been on BBC a couple of times. Problem is, it's a film which most critics nowadays tend to be sniffy about, so its not got the backing behind it that, say, "Citizen Kane" has.
